Cost-of-Living scheme

New Horizon Youth Centre and founding partners LandAid, The Progress Foundation and Greater Change have recently launched the £30,000 Young Londoners Winter Relief Scheme.

This scheme is providing vital financial help to young Londoners facing homelessness who are supported through the London Youth Gateway, offering cash grants of up to £300 to help meet escalating living costs. Greater Change will be administering the fund, and there is no expectation for grants to be repaid at any point by young people.

The cost-of-living crisis is having a devastating and disproportionate impact on young people, who are increasingly unable to meet essential costs and are at risk of being pushed back into homelessness. With insufficient support available to ensure this doesn’t happen, the partnership is working to ensure that those young people most in need can find some additional funding to help with costs this winter.

The fund can be used for utilities bills, support with service charges, council tax, or rent, phone and travel costs, and warm clothes for the winter.
